Community Sponsorship Ireland is a government programme led by the Irish Red Cross that enables local communities to directly support the resettlement of refugees fleeing conflict.

We work with our partners, the Irish Refugee Council, Doras and Nasc to form groups who help refugees integrate into Irish society. By becoming sponsors, communities offer a lifeline to those in need, reflecting the same generosity and compassion Ireland received in the past.

Community Sponsorship can be achieved by any group of people – it’s ordinary people, making an extraordinary impact on family’s lives. A Community Sponsorship group can be made up of neighbours, friends, colleagues or members of a hobby or sporting group or any type of existing community group.
